Program Administrator
Task 1: Candidate as Program Administrator:
For this task, I was to identify and write a grant proposal for the media center. I met with the media specialist to determine what her needs were for the media center. For this particular media center the specialist identified the need to create a more student friendly creative commons for students to read, conduct research, and collaborate on projects. I spent time researching many grants offered to libraries and found the Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant would fit their criteria. Once I started the application I needed to meet with the media specialist again and drill down into more specifics to fulfill the grant application requirements. With the help and supervision of the media specialist I was able to deliver a well-crafted grant application, requesting funds from Lowe’s Toolbox for Education. Below you will find the grant proposal application with the proposed budget.

Task 2: Library Media Program Evaluation
The process of evaluating the media center, gave me an opportunity to interview the media specialist and learn about many of the policies and procedures that govern the facility. While conducting the evaluation, I was able to discuss in detail each category and its target indicators. Below is the memo that summarizes the findings.
Key Assessment: Frit 7134
The Collection Development Plan was coursework for FRIT 7134 Collection Development and Organization. The project fulfilled the AASL/NCATE Program 2003 Standard One: Use of Information and Ideas and Standard Four: Program administration. During this project, I assessed the economics collection of the Loganville Christian Academy Library. I used both qualitative and quantitative assessment techniques. I evaluated the economics curriculum and created a materials order for the economics collection. Also included in this plan was a budget summary and a narrative that described the collection’s strengths and weaknesses.
