Digital Portfolio - Instructional Technology, Library/media
My name is Janet Leahr and I am a graduate of the Georgia Southern University’s MEd program in Instructional Technology (Library/Media certification). I live in Loganville, Georgia and worked at Loganville Christian Academy as the interim media specialist for grades 6-12 from 2011-2013. Prior to that position I was the computer teacher in those grades from 2009-2011. I have also worked as a technical support desk manager, sales engineer, and software integration specialist. During 2012/2013, Loganville Christian Academy integrated D2L as its course management platform. I was charged along with other technical staff members, to support the students and staff using these new tools. These experiences have given me a unique perspective in information literacy and the school library media center. As a participant in MEd program at Georgia Southern, I have learned many valuable skills, techniques and practices. The library/media center practicum has been an invaluable source of information and experiences that I will take with me into a media center.
